New Blogs!

Alright, here goes nothing! After launching my personal blog I’ve decided to I’m going to launch a sub-blog about industry-related topics, entitled “Let’s Get Down to Business.” My goal is to write about topics I’ve researched in depth. When I get interested in something I tend to do a deep dive to learn as much as possible, so I might as well share what I’ve learned. We (at least I) have had so much time on my hands that I figured I’d put it to good use. Crossing the Bridge has become an excellent outlet for me to express my thoughts and feelings, but I want to share my intellect as well. So, welcome to my new sub-blog!

I find it quite ironic I’m choosing to post these, as I was never a fan of research papers in school. I suppose the difference is I’m writing about topics I’m passionate about. Here’s just a couple of the posts I have coming up. Of course they all need to have clever titles:

• The Corporate Flywheel – How companies build their brand through a dynamic, self-perpetuating business model. I will use two notable companies as evidence of a successful attempt at this approach: Amazon and The Walt Disney Company.
• Monoclonal-whatey-whats? – A look at Monoclonal Antibodies (MABs) and their emergence as a cutting edge biologic treatment, including the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
• You, Me, and the ATS – Discussing the use of digital hiring and networking tools in the age of the internet. Some are fantastic, some not so much. I will share my experiences with everything from LinkedIn, Indeed and ZipRecruiter, to the dreaded Applicant Tracking System that is every applicant’s nightmare.
• Let’s Fly Away – A discussion of the aviation industry and the major changes that have happened recently, plus some predictions on what may be coming in the future. I hope to make this a series of posts, including discussions about various aircraft, airlines, airports, and other research I’ve done in regards to avation.

As a blending of the two, I’m also going to start another sub-blog in the future, entitled “All Work and No Play Makes for a Terrible Blog.” I may needed a shorter title for the blog, but all in good time! Here are some of the topics I hope to talk about.

• Me and the Mouse – my relationship with Disney and how it has impacted me
• Maui No Ka Oi – my experiences in Maui and why everyone should see it
• What in the World? – a look into the history of the World’s Fairs and my experiences attending one (yes they still run). There are a number of former fair sites that have lived on which the public may not know about, I’ll share more about those too.
